The chosen theme for any church must be a reflection of the present condition and portrays the aspiration of the Leadership of the Church. The year 2017 saw us highlighting on “100 years of impacting the world through Pentecostalism”. The emphasis was to see the need for the Holy Spirit to have His due place in the Church and how our fore-fathers relied on the Holy Spirit in the building of the Church, and hence, the Centenary Celebration. As a sequel to the 2017 theme, we are intending to make members understand that the prize of the high calling is the reason for living, or the reason for which the church exists. The rediscovery of the High Calling is the reason for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Pentecostalism). Now that we have impacted our generation with the Holy Spirit, there is the need for individual gifts and talents to be brought to bear for the church to tap into these individual gifts and talents for growth and development. This will help leadership to restore leadership to the next generation, hence “Moving into a new generation”.
Paul in verse 4-6
- Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
- Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
- Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
